Application: SnapStream - Video & Music Saver (Package: me.tikup.app)
Last Updated: September 15, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the SnapStream: Video & Music Saver mobile application (the "Application", "App", package name me.tikup.app) distributed via the Google Play Store. SnapStream is developed and operated by the SnapStream team ("we", "us", or "our").

We are committed to respecting and safeguarding your privacy. SnapStream is designed from the ground up as a local utility and personal media player. You do not need to register, create an account, or disclose any personal identity to enjoy all core features of the Application.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike many online services, we minimize data collection to the absolute technical minimum:

  • No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, physical addresses, or government IDs.
  • No User Account System: The Application operates in Guest mode. There is no account registration or cloud profile required.
  • No Contact or Location Data: We never request access to your contacts, call logs, SMS, GPS, or precise location.
  • No Browsing History or Private Galleries: We never scan or read your device's private photo gallery, documents, or personal files.
  • No Advertising Identifier (AD_ID): The Application does not serve third-party ads and explicitly removes the Google Advertising ID permission.

3. How Media & URLs Are Handled

When you paste a media link to save a video or play an M3U stream:

  • Volatile In-Memory Processing: Submitted media links are processed transiently in volatile server memory solely to retrieve direct media stream URLs and file metadata. We do not permanently store, log, or associate submitted URLs with any personal user identity.
  • Local Storage Only: Downloaded video or audio files are written directly into your device's public media directories using Android's standard Scoped Storage APIs. Downloaded files remain on your local storage under your complete control and are never mirrored or uploaded to our servers.
  • M3U Stream Player (BYOC): M3U/M3U8 playlists and stream URLs entered into the stream player are stored locally on your device (in local SQLite database/preferences) so you can access your personal playlist offline. Stream data is fetched directly from the host URL specified by you.

4. Technical Analytics & Diagnostic Data

To maintain application stability, fix bugs, and ensure seamless performance across diverse Android devices, the Application integrates trusted developer tools provided by Google LLC:

  • Google Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymized, aggregated telemetry such as app opens, session durations, general device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and non-identifiable in-app interactions.
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics: In the event of an unexpected crash or system freeze, Crashlytics captures crash traces, stack traces, and device memory state at the moment of failure to help our engineers deploy rapid bug fixes.

All diagnostic telemetry collected by Firebase is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Device Permissions

The Application requests only the minimal permissions required for core functionality:

  • INTERNET: Required to resolve links, stream user playlists, and download chosen media files.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Optional permission used strictly to display progress notifications while files are being downloaded and alert you when a download finishes. You may revoke notification access at any time in system settings without impacting file saving capabilities.
  • No Broad Media Access: SnapStream does NOT request READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, or MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. File saving is achieved using Android's native MediaStore API.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

SnapStream is designed for a general audience and is strictly not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or process any personal data from children. If we become aware that any information has been inadvertently collected from a child, we will promptly delete it.

7. Data Retention & User Rights

Because SnapStream does not maintain user accounts or personal profiles on remote servers, your data retention is entirely in your hands:

  • Deleting Saved Media: You can delete any saved video, audio, or playlist directly inside the Application's Library tab, or by deleting the files using your device's built-in File Manager or Gallery app.
  • Clearing App Data: You can permanently clear all local app preferences, cache, and playlist configurations at any time via Android Settings > Apps > SnapStream > Storage > Clear Storage.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect evolving application features or updated Google Play developer policies. Any revisions will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
